Arūnas ŠETKUS was born 29 September, 1958, Raseiniai (Lithuania)
He graduated from the Faculty of Physics Vilnius University (VU) in 1981 and received the diploma of Physicist.
1988 Awarded Degree of PhD in Semiconductor and Dielectric Physics;

1981-1984 engineer,  Semiconductor Physics Institute, Vilnius (Lithuania);
1984-1988 Junior Research Associate,  Semiconductor Physics Institute;
1988-1993 Research Associate,  Semiconductor Physics Institute;
1993-        Senior Research Associate,  Semiconductor Physics Institute;

Member of Lithuanian Physics Society.
Member of Lithuanian Materials Research Society.
Member of the Institute of Physics.

Arūnas ŠETKUS has authored more then 42 papers
 in refereed journals and more than 30 presentation in conferences.

thin film technology, surface physics, surface chemistry, signal processing, bio-sensors
Current research interest
electrical and optical properties of thin films; gas-surface interaction; mechanisms originating electrical response of thin films to exposure to gas; thin film technology, bio-sensors, mono-molecular structures, nano-structured materials, gas sensor arrays, gas identification in multi-component gas atmosphere.
